ok.... so i suck at driving this car, lol. definitely need more practice with launching it.

here are my time slips from last year.....

and here are some pics leading up to the latest time slips.....

stock chrome wheels w/ 265/40/18 Mickey Thompson ET Streets and Creative Steel 8.8 rear (iron housing, 3.73 gears, upgraded axles & 1-piece aluminum driveshaft).

HAD to shut it down after the 4th run. i stupidily hot-lapped the car, got all 4 runs in about 25 minutes. had coolant squirting out of the top of the radiator, not sure if i cracked it or if it was leaking from the small hose but i hope to have it figured out this week. if i did crack the radiator i'll grab an upgrade as "stock" ones are $300 on Rock Auto.

really hoping to get back out there next month and that i can get my 60' down to 1.8 so maybe i'll see some 13.1-13.3 passes. from what i can see, i'm highly doubting i'll get this car into the 12s with bone stock power but i'm determined to get as close as possible.

.35 and 2 MPH is a worthwhile gain for your first time back out. I've put an embarrassing amount of money in a car before to pick up less than that. What gear/RPM are you seeing when passing the traps?

I suspected this. I am guessing over-revving 3rd would net you a little lower ET and lower MPH and shifting 4th is the opposite. This is exactly my argument against 3.73s in this car for 1/4 mile. I know launch is an issue, but with 4.xx gears you could actually use the meat of 4th gear. Or 3.55s(my least favorite option of course) would let you cleanly finish at the top of 3rd. Shorter tire might help also but I'm a firm believer in using all the (1-4) gears the Caddy gods gave you.

this past weekend i finally got time to go over the Caddy and it turns out i did crack the radiator at the track.... this sucks. but i ordered an Alradco so hopefully i can get it and installed this weekend.

looking to order a drop-in K&N filter to finish off my intake setup (already have the K&N intake tube), port the throttle body and have the GMPP mufflers installed. also considering an oil catch can.

November Update......

back on 10/24, i got my new Alradco radiator installed.

then this past weekend I took a trip down to Tennessee to The Tail of The Dragon.... (I may actually purchase some of the pics Killboy & US129Photos took), but these are a couple i took.....

but the day before tackling TOTD me & the group i was with hit up Fastech Motorsports for a dyno day and i went ahead and put the ole girl up on the rollers....

she made 327rwhp & 335rwtq. only "performance mod" is a drop-in K&N filter.
