Yes I think so too. But can I add 1.5 inches and be ok with the stock ride height?

BTW. Thanks for the pictures. Car looks good....

making them 10" wide puts them right into the stock trailing arms and spring perch.

do 9.5" wide and you'll still get way more tire choices without having to do so much work.

based on barrok69's and tommycompton's experience, I am of the understanding that a 10" wheel will fit with minimal effort if you have aftermarket trailing arms (might have to dent the LCA a bit). Also, I understand it will fit quite comfortably if you use a 5mm spacer. One of those guys would have to confirm, but I'm planning on the 10" route, myself.

345 on the rear

Just found this link- I've never seen it before. This is how to get it done. Does anyone know whose car this is?

There appears to be plenty of room without any modification on my current setup to go to a 10.25-10.5" wheel, 10.5 for sure if I were to add a 5mm spacer to match the fronts that I'm running. I'll let the pics do the talking (wheels pictured are GM accy wheels widened to 9" with 275/35R18 PSS tires.

Thanks for that. I was thinking of getting the stockers widening to 10 inches but still back and forth on the info that I have read whether or not they will fit. Any wider would be a bonus.

I'm most likely sending my old wheels out this coming week/or next week to get done. I'm going to do some final measurements and hopefully mark up the work sheet for 10.5". My plan will be to run 295/35R18. I'm hoping that the stability control can cope with a 2% difference between front and rear tire size. Otherwise I'll have to drive around with traction control off every time I start the car which is fine, but not ideal given the power the car makes. I generally don't turn on the TC because it works so flawlessly.

When I had 245/45R18 up front with 275/35R18 in the rear briefly before I finished putting the longer studs in up front the stability control would go bonkers above 40mph and start intervening and applying brakes while driving in a straight line. Apparently it thinks I'm spinning out because of the 4% wheel speed differences front to rear Everything went back to normal when I got the 275/35's up front to match the rears.

So that is the biggest unknown for me right now. The wheel size should be fine at 10.5". You can see the back side edge of the control arm that's welded. This area would be the closest interference point and as noted others on this forum have ground away a small portion of it to make clearance.

I'm looking forward to seeing the results. By the time we're both done, the only major difference on our cars will be the paint color. :-)

Run a 255 40 up front it's 26" and the 295 35 are 26.1" that's how I have it on my car and no problems

I don't think I can do that

Once you've driven on 275's up front... there is no going smaller.

If the traction control doesn't end up working with the 275/295 combo then I'd try and fit a 10" wheel with 285/35 or 295/35's up front with some STS knuckles and fancy fender pulling perhaps.

I need to figure out who the manufacturer of our ABS units is and maybe get some behind the scenes work done to offset the tire size difference

Do you think you will be able to squeeze a 315 30 out back because if you can figure that out its the closest OD at 25.5

I'm sure I could make it work one way or another, but the tire selection in that size is not ideal for what I want to do. We'll see...There's no way I'm putting $500/ea PS2 on this thing. lol.

I look at this car every day now and drool. I don't even want a 345. Just a 320 will suit me fine!

Wish they had more detail on it. Due to the welder going inside the car in the one shot I can only assume they did a fork ton of fab work in it.

I'm hoping that I can move the lower shock mount inward to make some space for a larger tire. With out having to modify the top side. Moving some metal inside the inner fender should be easy enough.

Due to my RLCA I don't have that clearance issue. But I have more of a clearance issue because I'm full coil over setup.

I, too, have been upping that website's hit rate since I first saw it. And similar to you, I think 305 to 325 would be great in my book. For the 345, I'm guessing there was a lot of sheet metal fab in that area near the front cradle mount point. On the stock setup, it looks like it would hit the trailing arm, then the LCA, then the shock, then the inner fender/cradle mount, then the sway bar. Maybe 305-325 could be doable with only TA, LCA, and shock mount mods? I think barrok69's upcoming widening will teach us a lot.

After looking at these pics again and comparing to other pics of 285's and 295's, there is no way that these tires are 345 in the photos. With all of that mod work, I'm sure a 345 might fit, but the rear width pictures look the same as others who are posting pics of their 295's. Again, with all of that mod work, I'm guessing a 345 may fit, but it ain't in the pics, man! This is what a 345 looks like:

Quick Reply: Need more rubber in the rear, will a 19x11 fit?
