Default I'm a happy first time V owner!

This is a little late since I couldn't start a thread at first. As of about three weeks ago, I'm officially official! I picked up this '05 with 125k. It has an LQ4 swap 30 over with LS3 heads and intake, rebuilt trans, CA 8.8 with 3.55 and a couple of other goodies. So far I'm loving it! I made a five hour round trip to get her. Definitely worth it! I'm a long time rotary guy so this was a huge change in what I'm used to. No regrets. LOL.

The PO is an Ls1tech member. Very friendly guy and very open about what he had done and the history of the car. He was the third owner of an amazingly clean V. Other than a couple ofsmall cracks in the defroster vent and constantly on wipers, there isn't much to complain about! The wipers have already been fixed. I went with a junkyard wiper motor cover just to verify that that was the actual problem. The hardest part was getting the wiper arm off. LOL.

I'm looking forward to picking up a lot of knowledge from you guys while I'm here.

Reese

LOL. No definite numbers as yet. Nothing against the PO in any way but I'm disregarding any numbers until I put it on a dyno myself. It feels pretty good to me, and a number on paper won't change that.

Anyone want to throw out a guess? I'll give you the specs I have:
LQ4 bored .030" over, Mahle forged pistons, H-beam rods with ARP2000 bolts, new LS3 heads and manifold, Comp cam 219/227 112 lsa, Kooks 1 7/8" longtubes, Stainless Works full 3" with X-pipe

Damn...with that mild of a cam? I was guessing considerably less than that! He did say that the 6.1 had 10.8:1 compression if that changes anything.

I know I'd like to tweak the fuel map slightly since it runs 14.4:1 cruising down the road. I'd prefer a bit leaner; probably closer to 16:1 for a bit better mileage.

I know this vehicle from the auto trader ad. It was one that I considered buying. It's a great car for the price if it's the one from NC.

Yep. That's the one! Better in person than in the ad. I got really lucky finding it!

I wouldn't bother going super lean. In my experience you almost never save fuel but usually run worse especially as the weather varies.

Clean looking car. Your lucky a bunch of work is already done. Changing to the LQ motor means the motor mounts have been changed and the rear end is a huge plus. Have fun

PO opted to get the carbon fiber shaft. He also installed the chromoly axles.

Man that's fuggin' solid. No vibrations? Lots of people have problems with the 1-piece.
