The center CV is a different design, bolted together, so it's not OEM. Could be the same manufacturer though, I suppose.
It will make servicing the center bearing an easy thing the way it's designed.
I didn't see anything other than dorman stamps and stickers on the shaft.
As to the venting of the radiator cover, the MK2 will incorporate strakes to break up the airflow.
Flat bottom girls may make the world go round, but flat bottom cars do have the potential to possibly run into issues. The new design will tie into the wheel wells and replace all the pushpins and will be wider as well as covering the power steering lines.
If I ever get to production, it will be diy kit. Keeps costs down and still allows for some personalization.
I'm not willing to throw it back up on a lift for more photos, it's going to have to wait if that's not enough.
I rent my lift time or have to pay someone to do it for me. At $72 per 3 hr rental it's not worth it to me.
The Center bearing surround is much thicker than stock as can be clearly seen in the first post. The bearing is also a different design, much better overall I think.
They do offer the replacement bearings, but I'll leave it up to you to do your own legwork. Someone has already successfully swapped in a dorman bearing to the OEM shaft. Just Google it.
Someone on this very thread has swapped in a cayenne bearing. The dorman shaft is relitively cheap compared to OEM, and a solid purchase.
I've logged over 1,000 miles on the new shaft over the last 4 days.
When I take pics and do the final fit of the MK2 panel, I'll be more than happy to take more pictures of the drive shaft. I didn't see any made in xxx country stickers, didn't see or bother to look for any GM part numbers as it never entered my mind to look for one. It's a dorman shaft, not OEM.
Don't be scared, try one and you will love it. Rock auto has a killer return policy if you are not happy with it, even for the international orders like mine.

Some were saying this but I stepped out and bought it anyway because everything looked in line. I think mine was just a dud as it was REALLY close to fitting, just overly extended. The advertised length looks correct, I think mine was just a manufacturing dimensional error. Build quality looked good in hand. Rockauto was really good about it, so good that if I didn't already find another solution, I'd have tried a replacement instead of a refund.
The carrier bearing surround is a different design than stock and is noticably stiffer and wider than my previous 2 stock pieces.
Dorman does sell replacement Center bearing and it's designed to be serviced looking at it.
It's a solid buy for most and has really smoothed out my vibes. Now I just have to eliminate the ls7 clutch and go RST twin disc and from all my research it should solve the rest of my vibe issue.
My old shaft will be a Frankenstein experiment setup to test other designs of center bearing and support with.
I'm now well over 1,000 miles on the new shaft. Growing 100 miles one way twice a day plus 2 4 hour cruises to run in the shaft and see what it will do.
