The base model bar fits with a little spacer under it, I was just gonna use a base model one cause they are easier to find. The v2 one is a little taller.

The v2 strut bar won't fit on a v1 without substantial modification

I've been told otherwise by people running it - any specific input?

It looks like the V1 only uses 3 bolt holes, whereas the V2 uses 2 on the strut bars.

The V2 Vehicle has significantly better body structural rigidity and stiffness though so the V1 probably actually needs to tie into the 3 bolts versus the V2 only using 2.

The V2 is a pretty piece though and might be lighter.

what problems did you have? It bolts right on - using 2 rather than 3 bolts, true.

Hmm I know 3 people who have them on their cars with no issues using the back to strut tower bolts. Curious what problems you ran into?

To the OP - if you're running LS3 heads you need a head gasket that is as large as the LS3, not the 4.00" bore. Needs to be a LS3 spec head gasket or it'll be protruding into the head chamber.

The l76, lc8 and ly6 gm engines use a 4.00" bore head gasket with a 823 casting head. The protrusion wouldn't be enough to cause an issue.

Since this thread was created though I have decided to go with ls9 head gaskets, for the extra 2 layers. I am not sure how hard I am gonna push this car, but I guess I'll set it up for 800hp lol.

Little update

Been doing some small things on the car getting it ready to go back together. Cam is in and the front of the motor is all buttoned back up. Painted some small stuff, cleaned some stuff up. Swapped out some lazy gm heater hose clamps.

Looks great. I like the colors for the covers and brackets for the coil packs.

Thanks! It's been slow rolling lately due to yard work and getting the house and everything ready for winter .

The paint job looks killer!

What pulleys need to be changed? Are you going 8 rib?

I just picked up an LSA for my '04 LS6 so I'm starting to research everything now.

The LSA is stock 8 rib.
I'd be curious to see how the LSA crank pulley fits in our engine compartments. The ABS placement is in the way of a lot of stuff.

Thanks!

You need to run the LSA/ZL1 water pump. I am running the stock supercharger drive and it's a factory 8 rib.
