Default Lowering seat for more head room

I want to do a track day or two, but due to my height, I don't fit in my car with a helmet on. Has anybody lowered their seat to give them more head room? This could be done by modifying the brackets or the foam. I'll probably try a mixture of both, but I'm hoping someone has done this before. Removing some of the bottom seat cushion foam would also have the added bonus of making the bolsters taller. Lowering a seat isn't all that uncommon for performance, because the driver is the second heaviest thing in the car after the motor. Getting that weight lower is better. Replacing he seat all together isn't that easy, because mounting the seat belt becomes an issue. Anyone dropped their seat down a little? If so, what did you do.

If you go down the road of modifying the factory seat, you might try adapting a bracket made by "planted" for the gen 2. Everything lines up except for the slider that bolts into the rocker. I welded an insert into the floor board when I changed out to recaros and they sit pretty low.

Good to hear. I'll look into getting brackets or making new ones.

What did you end up doing for this? Any success?

I have been quite successful at denial and lying. I am in denial that my head is rubbing against the head liner when I drive, and I have lied to myself saying that it's a good thing that I don't fit with a helmet because I should't take my daily on a track anyways.
