Heater hose replacement options? (From water pump to frame rail)
I've got my engine partially disassembled and while it's apart was thinking about replacing the heater hoses - the ones that come off the water pump and run to the passenger frame rail. These guys:
They're not split or torn, so it's not critical that they be replaced right now, but they are 14-year-old hoses with 145k+ miles on them, so while I've got the water pump out it seems like it might be worth doing it.
As far as I can tell, GM only sold the complete hose setup - the rubber hoses from the water pump to the frame rail, plus the aluminum hard lines that runs along the frame rail - and that part (89022485) has been discontinued for a while. Plus it was damn expensive, since it included all the aluminum hard lines.
If anyone has replaced those two rubber hoses coming off the water pump, probably with cut-to-fit hoses that had to be modified, have you got some part numbers of what you used?

I pieced them together using various other molded hoses at autozone and it worked fine for 100k miles. that’s you’re option unless you want to order the entire assembly from GM
sorry no part numbers but I believe I had to route one hose forward and then 180 it backwards to keep from kinking it.
