Wheel hop and rear end troubles
#21
I went out tonite, on a lonely 4 lane in a commercial area.
I launched the car from a stand still, I released the clutch sparingly in 1st untill I felt the car hook up, and mashed the gas, no hop, no problem, I aggressively shifted into 2nd, and experienced only 3 or 4 minor hops and I was fully into the throttle upon shifting.
Now I did not power, or speed shift , however you choose to phrase it, but I did shift quickly and was on the gas hard.
This was the first time I really launched that aggressively from a stop. So I believe with a little work, this will become a non-issue.

Honestly I don't even think it's a wheel-hop issue. Quite a few posts state that they were still in the break-in, including one guy who points out that he owns a Z06, so the high-HP isn't exactly something he's going to get excited about.
This photo was the one which finally scared me off, personally:

I would agree that is definitely ugly.
I'm wondering if this was an early production problem.
I've driven mine pretty hard and I haven't heard any of the noise some others have talked about. I wonder what they're using in the SCCA cars, as they didn't seem to have any problems last year.
