05 GTO vs 05 CTS-V
Which one is ACTUALLY faster? They both claim 4.6 0-60, but motor trend seemed to get the CTS-V to go faster.
Any real world stories?

From a reliability standpoint...the GTO's rear ends are holding up better though

Well, if you must know...I JUST GOT ONE!
Silver with light grey interior. The car is absolutely phenominal. At first, I just wanted it because it's fast as hell and has the z06 motor, but I am SHOCKED at how much more depth there really is to it. As long as my rear end doesn't blow, I think this will be one hell of a great car to own.

Well, a friend of mine has a supercharged miata that he claims beats everything, but got SPANKED by an '05 goat with a guy who sucked at driving stick. I just wanna put him in his place
That V is the first 6-speed car i've ever owned with over 220 hp, and to be honest, ITS BRUTAL! I need to be careful, because i am either going to end up in jail, or a body bag. You don't even feel like you're doing triple digits...

Ben,
Velcome to the disease!!!!!
I also have a Platinum with the Platinum int., its very rare, count yourself lucky!
The V is the most amazing car I've ever owned, fun, powerful, secure and luxurious enough for this old hot rodder.
I know a guy who has pretty well fixed the hop issue, I'm very well connected with him. Its really a must for you to address that condition regardless of the route taken.
Enjoy your V, safely mind you, careful on the 2-3 shift, it has put more than 1 person off road.
Oh, and for your question, I think with a proper launch, the V wins.
