Camshaft! HELP
I am buying my cam tomarrow and what are you guys out there using and how do you like it? I am either getting a custom 219/225-561. 114 for a 4000lb V or Im going with 224/228 of some sort. I want a lot of torque and my V is heavy.
ANY SUGGESTIONS
I road race and drag! It is my daily driver for now so I want drivability!

With a cali friendly cam and no other mods, maybe 20-30 rwhp. It's really hard to say. I know if you throw some Kook's into the mix and dyno tune it, you will be close to 390rwhp. Not really worth the work in my opinion to do a cam only. If you're looking for one mod to do, buy some Kook's LT's and tune it.
Don't forget... with a cam you need to change springs also.

Would like to change the cam also.
The cats are blown out now so maybe I have 375ish to the rear?
2c5s what type of power would i get out of a cam? NO SNIFFER but I don't want it anymore lopy then it is now, a tiny bit maybe wouldnt matter but I dont want to rock the damn boat.
Also wouldnt like it to EAT gas 24/7 so if I average 14mpg now 10mpg would kinda be outa the question.
What would it be with cheapy heads?
Love to make 420 rwhp with just a cam...Heads are EXPENSIVE
Thanks

This is my car, Charlie at A&A did the tune for me. The cam I came up with is mega smooth and very close to stock sounding. You can't tell unless you really know what to listen for. It will pass the sniffer and would work well with stock heads. BTW, my fuel consumption is down on the highway, computer says about 26+mpg @ 80mph. You should be close to 390rwhp with a good tune.
Cheapy heads are just that...cheapy. In my opinion, heads are the key to the package. You want great low speed TQ and high rpm power. Cheapy heads vs. quality heads may only be about $500-600 apart. Save for the good stuff.
LG's 70+hp cam only stuff... not for the faint of heart.

The stock cam is a 204/218. What LSA and lift does it have. Is this one of the Katech cams?

From 370 -> 390 I guess its not bad for the cost but I'm looking for that 50+ hp...
Guess heads with lompy cam will only get that

Lumpy cam???? Quality heads and a correctly picked mild cam will give you 430+rwhp with intake.

918's
I am actually going to do a cam test for US V OWNERS. I am going to buy a couple of them and swap them out every 2 months or so. I dont give a **** about dyno numbers, I want to see how a 4000lb LS6 reacts to different specd cams.
