Default ls6 vs. ls2 cts-v

Hey guys I know the power is rated the same 400 vs 405 but is there a performance difference or just a new design??

NOt soo much that I am aware of....as far as actual numbers. I will tell you that pound for pound, your gonna have more output capability with the LS2 setup. Both great motors but, if your looking to MOD....346ci vs 362ci and ultimate block capability is greater on the LS2 block.

CI = more power.

Ok thanks guy's. It will be my wifes car so either one should be fine since I doubt it will get much if any mods.

Owning the LS6, my impressions of test driving an LS2 lead me to believe that the extra cubes gave it more power under the curve which I definitely felt. The motor seemed to get to a point where I would call "near-instant response" about 1k sooner on the tach. If my motor blew and was given a choice between the LS6 or LS2, I would pick the LS2 without a second thought. The only engine mod I have is a volant CAI.

more power down low with an LS2, equal up top....mod for mod ls2, and it idles better.
