holy ****, i wondered how a 16 yr old could afford a F-body, How the **** can you afford a 50K car? My truck ran 23k. that's about 400 bucks or so a month. at 50k, that's a huge amount of car payment a month. plus insurance, and premium gas at Cali prices. how do you afford all of that? i seriously doubt you pay for it all yourself.

I have to jump in here - as a guy in his 60's who owned many of the "fantastic" muscle cars of the 60's, let me assure you that they "don't make them like they used to", and, thank God they don't! In the 60's alone, I bought the following (new):

'62 Ford Convertible, 406 cu in, 3 deuces, 4 spd
'64 Ford Convertible, 390 cu in, 4 spd
'67 GTO Convertible, 4 spd, 400 cu in
'70 GTO 2 dr, auto

In a nutshell, my '05 CTS-V will out-accelerate any of the above in a straight line 1/4 mile (and above), will kill any of them on a road course, will out-brake any of them ..... well, you get the point. Additionally, you will note that I bought a new car about every two years. It wasn't because I wanted the latest, it's because after two years the cars were shot, both mechanically and body-wise. The Fords had a tendency to rust out, and the '62 with the 406 cu in engine actually suffered a CRACKED BLOCK after 14 months! My favorite of the four was the '67 GTO, but even that car was Little League compared to my V. It's nice to look back at the classics - their styling was distictive, I will say that. But to compare them to today's cars is rediculous. By today's standards they were J-U-N-K.

I never bought cars in the 60's but have bought many 60's cars and I agree that new cars have far fewer problems with holding up to a beating.

I will never sell my 66 ChevyII but I will drive the Caddy over it every day.
Must be the BRAKES ,heated seats,nav.,disc.player,ac, and the list goes on!!

Another closet homo on the board trolling for dates. Funny how they always bring up male anatomy. Now run back to daddy before your mouth writes a check your body can't cash.
