I ended up with the T/A going to the paint shop and took advantage of the extra empty spot and did another cam in the vette. I'll get back to the V shortly.

OKOK....but reliable to me is that it will get me to where I want to go, get me out of a jam if I need it too...and that it will do...those other things are just pot holes

2c: good luck with the vette, cant wait to see what comes next with the V though

Good luck finding an '05 for 30K or less. I just bought an '04 27,000 mile lease turn-in for 33K that was the only one I have seen in the Nashville area available this year. It needed a new trans and diff right off the bat which the dealer service installed under warranty without hesitation. I got an '06 CTS 3 quart 6 banger as a loaner for 10 days, no complaints.

If you plan to street-race, learn and perfect the clutch-slip launch and forget smoking the $400.00 run-flat tires, the wheel-hop will eat the rear end.

I am crazy about my V, but use a '97 Jeep Wrangler for tooling around town.

If you want to smoke the tires, go get a 1938 Pontiac and drop a ZZ-4 crate motor in......

My vote is you pass and get something else. I had the same concern you did, and I don't have any friendly dealer contacts who would take care of me. I ended up getting an 02 Z06 thought I really liked the look of the CTS-V.

I wish.. lowest price I`ve seen is $33,900 for an 04 from any dealer. There`s only one 04 for $29,900 from private party.
but now after reading all the rear end problems I think I`m back to the Magnum STR-8

I hate to say it, but I was thinking the same thing. The Vs sure do look good though! What to do, what to do!

I am EAGERLY awaiting the 2008 CTS.

If they offer AWD with a LSx engine (or at least a 4.6 Northstar),
I will order one ASAP.

If not,
it's looking like a SRX 4.8 AWD for the daily driver right now.

I told all of you I am not a Caddy hater.
I just can't deal with all the drama you guys are having with your V's.

Can't wait to get the info on the 08+ V.
I have faith that GM will get this one right.

RUN... don't walk to the geezer's place and buy (no..... steal) the thing. It is a bargain and under warranty.
