Same here. I had the Sport grille on standby 1 yr before I bought my V. I have a black 07 V6 as well. On the V6 I had swapped the V grille since day one. long time ago and coated the mesh black and kept the trim chrome look.
The problem is that the V grille is too flat. If you look at 2nd gen V there is some depth to that grille.
On my 08 CTS that grille looks great (better than the redesign) it makes one wish GM did a better job on the front of the 1st gen CTS.
And that's why the sport grille looks great it's not flat and it fixes the shortcomings of the front of the gen 1 CTS base and V
Truth be told though there is something to be said for a base CTS grille on the V. On the base it doesn't look great, but I have seen V's with them, and with the right lip color it looks good.
Like the ribbons, the bottom row, far left as worn.
Gentilemen, do you have a problem with my post about a ribbon in an EARNED set of ribbons? The only post I made was about an Army enlisted. and it means, no secret handshake or secret code. The ribbon is bottom row, the far left as it sits on your head. It is a Viet Nam service ribbon, you had to be there to get it. I did not comment on any other pictures. I worked till 2:30 pm went and voted and come home to this. Unbelivable. Maybe you don't like Nam vets, lot of people didn't, are you one? I served so you could do that.
DIY ceramic coating Sprayed easyoff oven cleaner, wait 5 -10 minute than use .0001 steel wool to clean the inside. than hose it down. The oven cleaner bubbles anything out of the pores, the wool buffs it clean. I do this ones a year.
Fitment is now flawless after some settling after the last adjustments. This is right before dyno, she made 424whp 414wtq. Drives amazing and pulls beautiful to fuel cut off in every gear. Still have to change the rear hubs, go to tr6ix plugs and tweak the fuel tables a bit from 6k to get a few more ponys to shake free.
Installed HR springs bc the cut springs didn’t sit right on the rubber in front and was tearing it up. Sits a lot better in the rubber mounts and drives better too. Rear wasn’t that big of a difference with the ride feel. I think it’s a little lower and looks better.
A little wheel ****. Don't hate on the BMW caps 🤣. It was the only daggone ones I could find that fit the wheels. I'll be painting them to match the calipers when she goes in for paint work in a few weeks.
