Default CTS-V v. GT500...Again

Well, we lined them up...again. This time it was from 40-160. I was spraying. I gave him the hit and pulled him by bus lengths. I ran out of spray as the speedo was tripping 160 and the Cobra was nothing but two tiny lights in the rear view mirror.

Then, we hit it again. I forgot to turn off the nitrous system. For those of you that are unfamiliar, that means I was running rich with timing pulled (from the tune) and dumping extra fuel with no nitrous.

He got the hit, again. From 40-100, it was close. From 100-165, it was Caddy all the way.

What was funny - on the second run, I realized that I had left the kit on with no spray. I had the passenger open the glove box and turn the kit off after the hit, but before third gear. After that, it was all over.

It's just funny to me that a 4-door grocery gitter is smokin' Ford's premium sports car while its running fat, on motor, with a set of golf clubs in the trunk.

I love this car.

Well...the Cobra got tuned and did 480 out of the box and 520+ with CAI and a tune. Pretty stout! But, the guy had his wife with him and they were running late, so we didn't get to race. I'm going to catch him next month after he gets his pullies.

I did run a LS1 TA with a 224 cam and 125 shot. I really thought I'd get smoked, but it was a pretty close race. 1st one - I missed the first shift (for the first time in a race, mind you ). 2nd one - pretty even, but it was just a short burst. Caddy had the edge, but TA was coming. 3rd one - TA jumped and then pulled very, very slightly. It was a pretty even match.

I've got video as soon as I can figure out how to post it.

Here's a little video. I was going to do a blow by on a Mustang and a Camaro while they were racing, but they backed off about the same time I hit it.

The Caddy just couldn't get any love.

Oops, that was almost too fast. One question though, why in the hell were u coming up behind the mustang? Had that race went the distance you know that the camaro would have opened the gap up for you to squeeze through.
