Default Should i get an 05 CTSv and a maggie or a stock 06?

Is the rearend worth the extra? Can't i just ask to have it replaced by the dealer? Or would i actually have to break it first?

you'd have to break it. The 06 rearend is better, but not a total fix. It is still the weak link.

Well that sucks, any idea how much the 06 rear would cost if i were to buy it? Why can't we just get a custom 9" with axles going out of it so we can keep the irs?

I've gone though one '05 rear and now two '06 rears. I'll let you know how the 3rd '06 rear holds up when it goes in next week.

i.e. There's no measureable difference in reliability as far as I can see.

There is already a fix for the rear with a 3rd gen Corvette diff. You just need to get your car to Ohio. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link the website so just look around and you'll find it! I think there's another guy about to finish a setup in TX too! Things are looking up for us all that want to keep this car for a while and beat up on some M5s!!
