I wouldn't mind a V either, but can't afford them. I would rather pay $45k+ plus for a "nice" Caddy that has power behind it. I was considering a used V once, then read about all the problems here about the rear end and scares me......

Well, at least we know that they will be under warranty if we buy new anyway.

I need a new job

this from speed TV.com

Vette Z06 Power for Next Cadillac CTS-V
Written by: Autocar staff
Eifel, Germany – 6/22/2007

This flagship CTS-V comes with a 7.0-liter, 500hp V8 sourced from the Corvette Z06 that should rocket it to 62mph in under 5.0 seconds, and could go on to an unrestricted 180mph-plus top speed, which is arriving at a showroom near you in 2009.

Seriously boys, I love Cadillac and American Muscle to death. But this is a part of cars I dont think Cadillac should stick their noses into. Who read about the 650bhp V12 Audi RS6 dropping around the same time, and that isnt even much compared to the 700bhp BMW M5 coming out. CTS-V will always, as much as I hate to say it ride 3rd fiddle to these 2. If I was ever in that genre, the other makes would seem so much more practical, and better built for me.

I'll believe the 700hp M5 and V12 RS6 when I see them. But even if they do come out they will still be at least $40k more than the V.

The new 2009 CTS-V will not be blown. It will have the LS7 NA. I have seen the test videos of it.
