Default MM6/M12 Gear Ratio Swap

Have any of you track guys on here changed out their V gearset (M12) for the Corvette/Camaro (MM6) ratios?

Low gear, especially with more displacement, is awfully short in our cars!

I'm going to put a Camaro 6-speed in my truck and thought about swapping gearsets because the V ratios would seem to be more at home in the truck and the MM6 set would seem to be applicable to the V.

The V output shaft has a different termination (fixed yoke) but otherwise seems to be identical, so it appears that it would be just a straight-forward gearset swap.

Default Oops!

I think that I should have posted this in the transmission section.

I looked into doing an internal transmission gear change, changing out the first gear for the higher ratio Camero first gear. I talked to the nice folks at Six Speeds, Inc. Ph. 888-937.4411. They said that they have had many inquiries respecting this swap, and that it cannot be easily done.
What I did do then was switch the rear end ratio from the stock 3.73 to a 3.42 using a CTS ring and pinion. It was a virtual drop-in fit.
