I do recall a company in CA that cut the inside edge of the rim and replaced it with a new one using one weld bead ... versus what most other folks do which is to cut the inside edge of the rim and place a band in the gap securing it with two weld beads. I think that the single weld is a better idea. I will post if I find any more info.
Good luck.

Default Wheel Widening

You can put 1" in your stock V rear wheels but you will have to add a 5mm spacer behind the wheel so it will have adequate clearance from your suspension components.

Weldcraft Wheels in Plymouth Michigan did mine. They have a pretty quick turn-around and the wheels were very true.

My spacers were done by WheelAdapter.com. They're billet instead of the beer-can castings common in the popular catalogs. I wound wind up with a smudge over 5 turns of thread purchase on the lugs.

The stock width was retained in front as I believe that there are issues with wider rims/tires on the front (in 18" sizes).

I now have PS2s all around, 245/45s in front and 275/40s in the rear with a quieter, smoother ride and excellent traction, well worth the cost of admission.

There are no issues whatsoever after 4500 miles.

Who did your wheels with a single weld joint?
