The "noise" that everyone talks about is very minimal in my opinion. The feel is GREAT, and mine feels much tighter with shorter throws compared to the UUC that I tested.

It should be the first mod and for only $200.

Mine will be here on Monday, used a 10% off code from ebay and I'll have the shirt... told myself I wouldn't mod the V... so much for that idea. Picked the car up about three weeks ago and I've already put about 1500 miles on it! Fun and the kids fit too.

aint that car a trip? it's instant bliss when you open the garage door.
it has all the things a man would need, cocky in your face attitude, yet civil
and refined. good luck with that bad boy.
p.s. u might wanna uncork that beast (exhaust) to really get the
full driving experience. but in due time...lol

okay! took me alittle while to get around to the B&M install....
but i got it done 2day , it took about an hour and a half, this aint nascar,
lol but it went pretty smooth other than a stubOrn rivet.

CTSV 510 you were right! wow! it feels like i got a gated shifter...
that's a nice 30% to say the least...tight, heavy, (a plus) and solid
would best describe the feel, along with nice crisp short throws.

iT really makes the car "seem" stiffer all around...much better "in your seat driving"
EXPERIENCE, as it really compliments the entire feel of your driving STYLE.

now the down side...why blog if u cant be honest?...slight noise and vibration
nothing to get ur ***** in a bunch over, just it wasnt there b4...more noise than
than anything, but its def not pleasant,(kinda sounds like driveshaft noise as it's not a grinding sound) and secondly give me a few days to clarify but
after "heating up" maybe a slight binding?? when i took the first blast around the
block i had a ear 2 ear shyt eatin grin and would compare it to vehical viagra.

final note...B&M STANDS FOR BIG AND MEATY...and it is def the 1st mod any V//
owner should consider (toss up between exaust as both were around $200.00).
I wanna give a shout out to my B&M homies,... who have
turned thier back on the other shifter choices, as this unit is by far a better choice
than the other 2 doo doo units. no offence ( to the misinformed ).

NOW EVERY ONE SING..."

""row, row, row, ur CTS-V, sidwayz down the street, merrily merrilymerrily merrily life is but a dream.""

herEs my follow up of the B&M...
after driving with it installed for a few hundred miles (city and hiway)
i've come to the conclusion that this thing is hard to live without.
much better after forgetting what the old one feels like, as now there is no comparing the two. after breaking it in, (me too) it makes the car
much more enjoyable,... and agressive is now the only way (imho)
to drive, as it makes the cars habits truly different, along with the aggressive exhaust tone, and new cradle bushing, i cant get enough of that amazing machine. any1 who is thinking about doing a shifter upgrade...don't think
as it's a no brainer and u will wonder how u ever lived without it.
thanks CTSV 510 for leaning me in the rite direction.

^^ That's pretty good, I like it.

I'm glad you're happy with the shifter! I knew you'd like it...

Now do yourself a favor and upgrade that POS ****. I got the Holden **** and it was just as important as the shifter IMO. The heavier weight just makes the shifts that much better.

BacDoc,

What and where to get the "Holden ****" ? Pic's ?

I just got back from boating on the lake and my new B&M shifter was waiting on the steps

I would be installing it now except I'm too dang tired! Not as young as I once was..

d

OHSIXCTSV, Thanks for the update, I'm really looking forward to this mod.

remeber to change steps "5" (5/16 bit) & "19"(reverse bolt/nut)....thank CTSV 510 for the tidbit.
also mark all ur insulation packing with frnt rear arrows...
u might remeber ...but better to be sure. now go install that thing, and get a friend to help tighten hex bolts (from kit)...would be a plus.

The Holden stitching is a perfect match and that $2 stock shifter isn't worth the five minutes they put into the design of it. It's light, numb, and cheap looking. :grrr:

To each their own. I would suggest a heavier **** through. The B&M is great but even better with some weight on top of it. Plus the tight fit took out most of the noise.

It is heavier and it feels great. You don't have to use much effort and it always seems to find the right gear. The **** is a bit fatter I guess and it may be a bit shorter but thats with the B&M under it too. I think you can order them direct from Auzzie for under $100. I got mine off eBay.

I bought $20 worth of Dynamat from Crutchfield (there're probable cheaper/better sources) and used $5 worth to wrap the shaft under the boot. Now have virtually no noise.

A shifter is an absolute MUST in this car!
