ok, I'm definitely buying this in the next couple months. this is too awesome not to.
Are regular cts guys interested in buying our stock units? What are you doing with your stocker?
Kcaiccio, post up what you end up using for the steering wheel controls. I will be following suit evenutually.

They need to get the Cobra iradar app for my radar detector. I have been running it on my galaxy tab and galaxy II skyrocket phone in the car.

I've heard that Waze is pretty good . . . and FREE.
I (AGAIN) accidentally won one of the Ca-Fi knock offs. I might see if they'll switch to the one with the capacitive screen and Android 4.0.4. I'll find out how to root it!

Actually, the iRadar app is a joke as reviewed by most of the RadarDetector sites. I'm running Escort Live, has saved me twice in the less than 2 weeks running it.

I found mine for $80 on sale.. http://www.amazon.com/Cobra-iRadar-i.../dp/B0043D2ICS
look at the most recent reviews not the ones from 2010 when it first came out when the app was buggy.
Here are reviews between detectors.

I am not going by a review site, I have been using it for 8 months. Works great for me. And it is not overpriced like the escort products.

Why is Escort Live so different from Cobra’s iRadar. Well I can basically answer this in one word, performance. Cobra’s radar detector products are notorious for having low performance and poor filtering while Escort’s products are known for having high performance and great filtering.

As they say, you get what you pay for . . .

Also, I notice all the alerts for it are personal, where the Escort Live is networked. Meaning, if someone else gets a valid alert via Live, it marks the pin & if I come thru the same area, I get notified of it. THIS is what saved me twice recently . . . in two weeks. I got a notification about a cop spotted, NOT RADAR, and sure enough, DPS was sitting there.

I am sure cobra gives more false readings than a $450 radar detector but I am willing to live with that.
I am fortunate to live in an area where the cops are not speed ***** so my risk factor is low compared to some peoples. I mostly drive the beltway and it is only two lanes very rarely are there cops.

Ok, I think I've found my solution! I did "agree to buy" an ebay auction, but I think I'm going to go ahead & take my licks for non-payment or work something out.
While reading the thread linked to the Ca-Fi/Adayo thread on FT86, the guy posting it, 2forme, has an all new solution & has ditched the Ca-Fi all together. Now he's using a Pioneer AppRadio2.
The great thing about this & something I've wanted FOR LAST FEW YEARS, it's basically a dumb terminal for your Android device. You hook up the HDMI/MHL cable to the AppRadio2 (AR2) & the screen is essentially what you see on your phone! THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS! Exactly what I've wanted forever . . .

I'm already using an Evo 4G sitting in my console as my Bluetooth connected media player. Never leaves the car, greatest thing is it has HDMI out! ANd it's rooted . . . ergo, meeting all requirements for this solution! AND . . . I've got the woman's old Evo 4G too! I could run either device & then use WIFI tether to my Galaxy Nexus (which would work too with AR2!) & be SET! HUGE NERD BONER!

IF anyone is interested in the Android Ca-Fi knockoff, I'd sell it for what I pay for it (going to figure out if it's still free shipping or not), but I have committed to $388. Let me know! Capacative screen (better kind!), Android!
