Need a New Driveshaft
Busted my drive shaft over the weekend so now I'm looking for a replacement and wanted feedback. I plan on selling my car in the fall so I hate to throw too much cash into it, but also not willing to buy a new OEM one.
I'm thinking either the driveshaft shop 1 piece, one of the GeForce one pieces or GeForce 2 piece.
I know the 1 pieces are limited to 150mph which sucks ***, but I've never gone over 150 anyways so I'm leaning towards them as they are slightly cheaper. I'm also leaning towards the driveshaft shop simply because GeForce has a tendency to take forever and a month to ship their items.
Any thoughts or opinions on these 4?

Then pick up a 3.31 differential and up the limit to 169 mph. I've done 160+ mph in 5th and the car still has plenty of legs. If 54 and Gulf complete their 8.8 project, I'm almost certain that I'll be in the market for a carbon fiber driveshaft.

You know the 150mph limit is a round about number, if you were to give me your rear ratio and how tall the rear tires are we could get a exact number with a safe factor most are higher, were workingng with both a 8.8 and a 9" diff kit set that we have made CV adaptersrs for both ends, this will make the tube section much shorter and raise the Critical speed to a much higher number. keep and eye out for them soon. they will be similar to the 2009+ carbon we make in both the aluminum and 3.25 Carbon.

Most popular 8.8" final drive ratio for this car is 3.55, but it's an expensive (and therefore rare) modification.

Please note that we're still concerned about the heat from the exhaust getting to the carbon fiber driveshaft. You should really pay attention to Junior1--he's on the bleeding edge of N/A track performance on his heavily modified CTS-V (he's at 3366 lbs too, due to massive weight reduction efforts).

That being said the shaft would have a .91 safe factor due to the level of balancece, CV joint the U-joint not moving at a large angle. so with the 3:73 gear it would be 6335rpm, or about 138mph.
with the 3:55 gear is would be @ the 150mph mark. The carbon shaft would have a safe factor of about 220mph (or more) on the 9" and the 8.8 kits the dimension is different and the ends longer so these numbers would be a bit higher.
this is balancer at work

Frank is building a new 1 piece with 2 cvs for me now. I am torn about the critical speed, but the shaft will clear any shifter no problem from measurements. I may consider the Carbon Fiber and wrap my exhaust, but I am only street use so kind of hard to justify the extra cost. Sure is a great guy to deal with.
Definitely consider something with a CV in it, like the DSS 2 piece or his sson to be new 1 piece double CV. Should help avoid vibrations.
Consider this, why did cadillac put two cvs in the car? and on the new ones? To stop driveline vibration I would bet.

My actual shaft length is really only about 50" instead of the 60"+ gap for the driveshaft. 10" shorter definitely helps the critical speed, but Frank is the math guy and can explain much better than I could right now (still learnin
