CTSV fuel line HP rating???
Just out of currosity does anyone know how much horsepower the stock fuel is capable of handling before needing tobe upgraded?? Only reason I ask is because I am helping a buddy turbo his 05 CTSV and we figured we would upgrade the line if we needed to while we had the tank down doing a fuel pump swap. Would really like to keep the stock line just dont know what kind of HP it will produce before it becomse a problem.... Feel free to give your opinion... Thanks for all input.

its a loaded question...
the line is 3/8 or -6AN. It really depends on pressure that will determine hp limits.
it could be 600 if your pressure is at 40psi or 800 if your pressure is at 74psi.
Its the same line size for many cars, including F-body, Zr1 etc... some get away with 800.
You are going to have way more issues with being rear regulated, pump size limits, bucket issues etc... than the line itself. If you are staying within the confines of what the bucket can handle, you wont limit the feed line.

I've been thinking about doing a dual inline pump system for some time. Obviously, it's not necessary at my power levels, but it'll be very handy when I'm supercharged. Whatever happened to those threads about modifying the stock bucket to house twin pumps? I had the following picked out for after I got the pumps squared away:

thanks for al the input guys.... We went ahead and put a big pump in and probably going to do a hotwire kit of some sort. The new question is doing a regulator setup on it. Just out of curosity is the regulator built into the fule filter?? Getting ready to order a set of rails with a crossover and was debating ordering a FPR kit as well.....

big pump? there are only a few I know of that will fit in the bucket.
The regulator is part of the fuel bucket, its on the return end, with a tiny jet to open the flap on the back side of the bucket assembly, it keeps the bucket full along with the jet pump.

the pump we put in was the new walboro 400lph... Any ideas on how we should do it? FPR or boosta pump, etc?? got 90# injectors. Still trying to figure this whole fuel system out with this car. lol

its not 'what people say', it IS regulated in the tank.
You want to externally regulate, you must remove this...
Not sure what you mean by 'any ideas'... if you want to run a return system, you have to run a return setup... feed line to rails, then regulator to, a return line, alter the bucket, remove the regulator, change the fuel filter.. etc etc...

This is confusing. I'm one month away from installing a bunch of stuff and figured I would tackle the fuel system while I'm at it - I have a 2004 CTS-V. The info I got on the caddy forums is this..."The pressure regulator is in the 'fuel filter' just in front of the tank, on the inner side of the frame rail."

When it comes to the Gen I:
The info you quoted is 100% Incorrect
So where is it? The Regulator is part of the bucket.
It is a Denso Regulator which has the return loop come from the filter.
The diagram (above posts) red arrows shows the flow back from the Filter. To the right, goes to the PIN size hole aiming to the flap (this opens the flap and helps bring fuel into the bucket). The left is the remaining regulated fuel.
I would think you are nearing the bucket limit (without scavenging issues) - but still okay , I cant recall how successful others were with 400+lph with the bucket...
