Old mechanic I know puts alcohol in them and then runs them really hard to get them hot, says they pass 99% of the time.

I've got a bigger problem, I recently imported a '98 LS1 from MI with no ERG, no cats, no air pump, has aftermaket heads/cam, LT's ORY , not sure what I'm going to do to get this thing on the road for spring
