Default Machine Shops in the west?

Im looking for a place on the westcoast that can do portwork on a pair of heads for a decent price. Anyone recomend any shops, or have had work done anywhere?

Cant say I really know of anyone good. Your best best is to send them to Lloyd Elliott.

Yah I hear ya dude, When I was looking into doing Heads. Cam and intake. I looked and asked around and there nobody really in BC that has much LT1 experiance, Heck I couldnt even find some one to tune my car here, I eneded up getting vince from treffica performance tune it in lyden just across the border. I'd go with lloyd hes an awesome guy to deal with. Best bet is to call him up and tell him what you want out of your car, and hell help you figure out what you need to reach your goals.

Ive actually been thinking the LE2 setup could be a good deal. But will it work well untill i get full bolt ons going, anyone know? Ive got full exhaust, walbro fuel pump, and have larger injectors on hand. I really dont want to bother lloyd untill i have the cash/time and all for it. Universtiy student, makes things hard.

It will work, but your wont see the full potential of the setup unless you have all the supporting mods to go with it (bigger tb, roller rockers, Cai...). You'd be better off doing all the bolt-ons first or do it all at once. I hear ya on being a student. What part of BC Do you live in?

If i did the LE2 i would get the other stuff as i go. Its just to get the basis down, i dont want to get the LE1 and then some, and be under expectations. What about the machine work CPE (canadian performance engines) does? They charge 1649 CND i assume, but im curious as to how they compare to the LE stuff, also that doesnt come with a cam, but yeah.

Im in Kelowna, about 4 hours drive east of vancouver/

I havn't heard too much about cpe, They want $1649 for porting your stock heads? Deff go with an LE2 set up from lloyd by the time you get a cam you'll be at the same price if not more than if you would have sent them to lloyd. His packages have been proven countless times on countless cars. I wouldn't send them to anyone locally simply because no one is known for building/tuning lt1s, where as lloyd is the man when it comes to lt1's and heads/cam/intake packages. Do you ever make you way down to mission raceway?

No unfortunatly, dont seem to have any time on my hands, i assume we will once i get my car going, and joes car done. We have a fleet of camaros.... 97z28 94z28 and a 68 SS, so i suppose we should hit it up.
