Timing cover and oil pan are getting cleaned up, should be back on the T56 tonight, and in car tomorrow. Plumb it, flash ECU so it'll start and it will live!

Just need to bleed clutch system, install muffler and tips, finalize the tune, and burn some rubber!

Car sounds sick dude. Great job on the build. Something like that would take me two years to do you did it in a blink of an eye.

Car would be out, but after tuning and some road testing noticed a very small coolant leak by number 7 cylinder. Confirmed crossover pipes aren't leaking, header bolts aren't leaking and frost plug area is dry.

Removed rear head bolts and found more dirt then we'd like on threads, hoping its some dirt not allowing proper torque loading on the back of the head. Installed 2 new head bolts and just have to put intake back on and test her, fingers crossed we don't have a dud head gasket. I doubt it as new gaskets were used, throughly cleaned engine block and heads were sent to machine shop.

Monday night I will have hopefully good news.

Finally figured out the coolant leak, haven't removed engine yet (doing that this weekend) but after some research on this site (which is awesome resource!)

Come to the conclusion that my 853 heads likely do not want to play with my Z06 head gaskets.. that damn notch.

Pulling motor, swapping gaskets and reinstalling sometime this weekend, early next week.

Aside from the leak, car runs amazing, and is a blast to listen to idle

Awesome work.

Do you guys have the harness all dialled in and the gauges all working?
Just wondering if you guys did it or had someone do it - but based on your speed in that project I'm going to assume you guys are confident with the elecrical side of the install?

Used a 99 motor/trans/ECU and harness so all plug and play. My builder has a buddy that tunes, so he's doing all the tuning (HP Tuners)

Motors in and tested : No leaks found, shes out and driving!
Oil psi is good, temp stays right in center.

Needs final tune for WOT, but shes tuned for daily driving, runs awesome!

Gave it quick clean up at work this morning, getting a proper detail this weekend.

Sorry to hear about the misfortune Bob but glad you found a new motor. I've been in your shoes many times and it's usually when there isn't anything around to buy lol! Once winter hits, moved into the new house etc I'm sure I'll want to tear into my '98 Z just like you did with this car. I need that steering wheel ..

Got the LQ4 and the car in the same room, so thats a start! Time to get LS1 out and swap over some goodies to the LQ4 and back into the Camaro. Hoping for it to be done and back home before snow hits!
