Default New guy, 2nd gen Z28 swap

Hey guys, new member in Northern Ontario. I have an 81Z with a 383/TKO 600 5 speed. Runs great, lots of power, but I recently picked up an aluminum L76 gen 4 6.0.
I'm doing a 4" stroke and whatever bore I can safely go to. .020 maybe? Going to measure cylinders first. If current bore is fine, I may stick with 4".
Looking for opinions on gen 3 vs gen 4 factory ecm. Some people say gen 4 harness and programming are too expensive. Not looking to control anything other than the engine, 2 electric fans, would like to use 2 02 sensors, no AC. Staying naturally aspirated.

Any thoughts and opinions are appreciated. Goal is to keep it streetable, but I will go with as much cam and head as I can get away with while keeping it safe for the odd long trip and relatively efficient.
