Default insurance

how much are you guys paying for insurance on these LS1's, whether it be primary driver or whatever? Do the different make and models make any difference between them? I know a corvette is going to be insane on insruance, but when i got a quote between a trans am and a camaro the difference was almost $2000...

Corvettes are about the same or even less than f-bodies! Price it out and you'll see. I'm paying $118 per month for my C5.

This is very true. Part of the process for determining a premium has to do with avereging out the number of claims on said vehicle. Since most c5 owners are of middle age, and there are alot less c5's out there than F-bodies, there are less claims. This directly results into a lower premium, although it is considered a sports car.

This is what my insurance agent told me last time i was talking to him, because he was telling me it would be same/less to insure a viper than an 02 ls1 f-car.

I'm gonna have to disagree. Go to www.kanetix.ca. Really good insurance site, gives you instant quotes from 4-8 insurance companies.

No matter what I do, a viper is at least 2 grand a year more than an F-body. It does get a little better if it's an Srt-10. The reason the viper is so expensive is the hood. It's one piece and if you bang up the front end you end up replacing the whole thing.

The corvette on the other hand has a bumper, hood and fenders. Not to mention the C5 was designed with Insurance companies input.

I bought my 01 SS in the Fall and was quoted nearly $1800 for the year, this Spring upon renewal it dropped to $1350. I live in Ottawa which is probably better than around Toronto for insurance.

When I had my 98 formula I was 19 paying $1000 bucks a year in B.C. Moved to Alberta they wanted $5-8000......I miss that car

Oh yeah, one ticket no accidents. They said it was going up because I was a new driver in Alberta.....HELLO! There isn't a single corner in the province, it never rains and rarely snows...seems pretty safe to drive here to me.
