The GSXR1000's are tough to beat, you will have to have a lot of power to come close to one.

I have a 2001 GSXR 1000 and with a slipon exhaust, lowered and strapped it ran a 9.89 @ 138 But my best mph on it has been a 142

BTW I weigh 140.

Zombie ss on this board has raced many bikes from a roll.......ussually around 60 mph to 130-140. I have a busa, a zx11 turbo/ intercooled bike and a 1200 bandit....so we have some testing.

Zombies car is a 2000 ss 75k miles, with turbo /intercooler water /meth injection long tubes, and a 224 cam. It makes 550-600 out on the hwy. A05 1000 rr with 175lb rider doesn t catch it till 125-130, but goes by good at that point. No 600 has won yet. We raced the best 600 we could find in town.....on video, an experienced 150 lb rider on an r6, achro, 1 down, 5 up, strapped and lowered.....the r6 stays with it in the begining....then falls faster and faster as we go by 100 mph. The bike went 10.89 three times in a row the week before we ran em.....the cars best is 11.7.......why....the leave, the car traps mid 120's in high 11's so it has the power to run from a roll.

Before you get all hurt about the 10.89 r6, this is at 2200 ft with DA"S in the 3500 area alot.....lately I ve seen 6000-7000 DA's in the summer, and the car still goes mid 120's.

It can happen, esspecially if you catch a bike, not ready, thinking its just a 300 hp car......On the upside the car is probably getting a th400 now, so going from a stop will be even better.

Im going to be running a GSXR 1000 pretty soon from a roll. I expect it to be pretty close and not sure whos going to actually end up ahead. From a roll bikes have a horrible drag disadvantage. Im expecting him to pull ahead a little at first and then me run him down the faster we go. Should have a video as well of it.

Is the bike stock? It will be interesting to see the results... how big a shot will you be spraying and what does your car do at the track?

Yeah the bike is stock and not so good of a rider, probably just below average. Ill be spraying probably about a 250-275 shot when I run him, dyno numbers below are on a 175 shot. I should be 750+ rwhp when we run. I really dont know whats going to happen but Im thinking like I said he will get the initial jump and then Ill start reeealing him in the faster we go and pass him in the 130-150 range.

As far as what my car does at the track, it breaks axles LOL. Last time I went I broke my axle trying to launch it and run 10s. When I babied it off the line, 2.0 60, it went 11.5 @ 130 mph on about a 125 shot.

If you can make 500-550 rwhp then racing a 600 cc bike from a role is easy. The 600's don't have the power. The one I raced was a 10 sec bike and had a 10 sec rider on it and I still managed to pull him hard.

I've beat a few 1000's (even an R1 from a dig) but I only did it because they weren't on their "A" game. They just don't expect a car to be very fast. I love racing bikes when I find them on the highway, they will almost always run. If they are in a group they won't run (i've asked over 20 bike guys to run now). All it takes to beat a 1000cc bike is one little mess up on their part even though they ARE faster technically. 99% of the riders out their can't even come close to riding the bike to it's potential, even in a straight line.

Just for reference in vegas these are common trap speeds for different sized sport bikes from what i've seen at our track.

600cc = 112-122
750cc = 120-130
1000cc = 125-140

Racing from a role on a bike does not take much skill Today's 600CC sport bikes are MUCH faster than those from just a couple of years ago... they make ~110RWHP and are super light... with a good rider they trap in the 125-130mph range. Have you ever tried a roll-on race against a GSXR1300? I ride one of them and drive a Firebird that has run 11.0 and my bike is faster than it in every possible sense... I have not yet been beat on a roll by any car I have come accross, I am not saying it's not possible... it's just not happened yet I think it would take close to 800HP to out run a Busa on the highway... and there are not too many 800HP cars cruising around on my highways... My bike is pretty stock except for some boltons... after I get beat I will probably install a 50HP hidden dry kit to make sure it does not happen again

Hey Formula 383, You must be pretty quick with that weight advantage-even in the car. Good for you. I'm 6'3" 250 and if it weren't for my pretty quick near stock car and power shifting experience (sticks for 22 years) I wouldn't beat a pinto.

Yeah it comes in pretty handy sometimes. Especially considering that I am an AVERAGE rider and can run a 9.89, if I were really good at launching I think I could do some damage.

In the car every little bit helps I guess.

Wondering are those sportbike times on the tires they come with or race type tires?
Is it hard to get good 60fts on bikes? I have seen a busa that ran high 10s run a few really crappy runs likely from blowing launch badly. Also of course if the guy riding doesn't know when to shift or gear down etc should be possible to beat a bike occasionally.

My times are on the stock tires.

It is a little tricky to 60' a bike good, just takes a little practice.

I have over 530 ftlbs of torque in the turboed gto, and I have taken a few bikes from 80mph to 140 mph. This is solely due to incompetent riders on the bikes. I also have a cbr 1100xx, and I know from experience that with good drivers/riders, the power to weight ratio on most factory bikes is nearly insurmountable with even a heavily modified car.

EXACTLY! I too have a quick car (low 11 second F-Body) and some quick bikes (Busa & ZX12R)... I share the opinion as you do

I raced 2 gsxr's at the same time last weekend on the highway i think i saw 750 on one of them??. they kept messing with me, reving and pulling wheelies. so finialy they just got on it(both bikes were side by side in the left lane) so i nailed it. from a 60punch i pulled and nosed them out alittle then after they shifted they started pulling away slowly. I let off at 130mph with one of the bikes having just over a car lead on me. the other bike had right at a car length on me. this was an N/A run had i sprayed the TNT kit i think they would of stood no chance .

At first i was thinking that maybe they just wernt very experenced riders or something, but as it turned out I saw one of the dudes the next day at a local car show and he was out there doing some stunt riding, he was pretty badass at it too. I asked him if he was suprized after racing me and he said he was shocked and kept thinking "WTF?, i should be pulling away from that car much faster"
