If you're going to go to that length (and subsequent cost), wouldn't you want to at least replace the bearings and upgrade to ARP hardware?? (even if you're not replacing the crank or rods)

..... but that's just my $.02!

If you do a D1SC-I would recoemnd getting the front mount intercooler upgrade and a Alky control meth kit. I would also recomend opting for a 8 rib upgrade right now-it will save you money in end. Don't forget about injectors and racetronix fuel setup with a hotwire kit.

Forged 347's are pretty reasonably priced-I would just opt for a forged short-then your just a pulley swap away from 700 rwhp!!!

very true fellas, it would not make any sense to not just freshen up the bottom at very least while apart. The forged 347 sounds like it'd be better money spent though.

As mentioned, just a pulley away from 700hp

I use ARP main studs on every motor and I always use the Wiseco pistons and Callies Compstar rods with moly rings all balanced in a new LS6 style block. If I supply everything the shortblock is $3800cdn and good for 700++...

Would you recommend the 6.0 heads for less compression when adding the pro charger?

what do you sell the P-1sc for? or would you suggest the D-1sc with the 347?
What would the procharger, the install and tune w/ a blower cam be on top of the short block?
Just so I'd have a rough idea cause if you suggest the 6.0 heads, I'd get them at the dealership here where I get a discount, and what year heads preferably?
Yhanks, I'm looking at doing this next year.

Do a search under my sig for details on my build. For the absolute best price on the kit-call Bob at EPP for a price and let him know I sent yeah-he'll help you out like he does me, get the d1SC, eight ribs and ask him about the front mount intercooler upgrade. CDN perf can do the install and tune and set up the kit perfectly-with all the goodies you can make over 500rwhp now and your pulley swap away from over 700-easy. CDN perf is working on getting there own Procharger kits for C5's that are turn key 800 rwhp, 900rwhp and 1000 rwhp and the f-body's will be in the works.

Man I owe Dave a big thanks for his advice... I was running comp 918's and had issues with valve float ( they weren't new ) but from what I read on the boards they were supposed to be the perfect spring to match up with my 224 cam. The CP boys were ADAMANT that the 918's were not worth putting back in and although this wisdom went against what I had read on the boards here I trusted them and went for the Patriot Golds of which I am very happy now and feel safe(er) haha when I bounce off the 6900 RPM limiter.

Now I find this...

Experience is an invaluable tool when building engines. Hats off to you Dave your advice was/is most appreciated.

Now any luck on them tires?

Thanks again boys I wanna go to the track!!
