Default What exhaust are you running?

I am currently running long tubes with flow master 40 series mufflers with an H pipe. I am not to thrilled with the sound and was thinking about getting moroso spiral flows, SLP loudmouth II, or Borla XR-1. Just wondering if anyone out there has any of these and if they are happy with it and any sound clips would be a plus?

I'm in the same boat as you. I am running long tubes, 3" full duals with 3" ultraflow mufflers. My exhaust sound great at idle, but as the revs come up, there is a VERY unfriendly RASP, and I HATE IT! I dont have an H pipe. Mine sounds good when WFO and the revs are above 4500, but it is crazy loud at wfo.
My plan is to add an H pipe, and even add some dynomax 3" race bullets in front of the existing mufflers.
Another option I have been thinking about is merging both 3" pipes together instead of an H pipe, and making 1 4" single, then splitting it back up into the 3" dual muffs, and tail pipes.
I dont know if any of this will work, I just know that my car sounds like azz right now.
I have been advised that true turbo style mufflers are the quietest, dynomax super turbos, or magnaflow XL series.

1 3/4 to 3 inch duals into 1 chamber blowmaster then dumped at the axle. Sounds ok, but i cannot think of anything that would not be over the top that would sound worth a ****.

Yeah my car also sounds great at WOT but at an idle the mufflers sound like hollow tin cans and at part throttle I have a bad rasp also. I want my car to be loud but I dont want it to be obnoxious. My friend has SLP loudmouth II on his camaro and it sounds pretty sweet.

yeah, you need to drive it on the street to find the rasp. mine happens above 2000rpm, and at part throttle, it will continue to rasp up till over 3000. i have a stick shift so maybe that exagerates it, as I try to keep the revs down to keep the volume down. As soon as I go WFO it just sound angry. I like the sound of mine except for the volume, and especially the RASP.
Maybe if I could quiet mine down, i wouldnt be afraid of reving it through the rasp, and it wouldnt bother me so much.......

An h pipe will take most of that rasp out.

Mine sounds BAD *** inside, but outside, it is just not that aggressive sounding. Think i will leave it alone since the cops never look at me, it really isnt too loud honestly, but i just dont think the exterior is good enough. Not really any rasp though.

While the H-pipe does a great job, I think an X pipe is the way to go. Makes more power, takes the rasp out of the exhaust, and sounds awesome!
