I've got an NGK, its ugly, but it was $250, and the bright red display is easier to read when I have it mounted to my ice drag sled in the winter.

look up rob youngblood www.advancedclutches.com well worth the $ for a clutch.

also i would look into

ram sintered iron

mcleod softlok

or one of the mcleod street twins.

in a stick the clutch needs to take the shock. most serious stick car racers will have clutches with base pressures ranging from 350lbs to 1000lbs vs the 2200-2800 lbs clutches out of a catalog.

also the clear plastic sight plugs for a holley are not worth it, they are plastic and in time get brittle and break off. just use the screw.

The screw? That is messy as hell with all the camming at idle, LOL.

I have the centerforece dual friction right now. Since it is not intended for the track very often, i cannot justify a clutch swap.

Is that the plain old AEM from Jegs and Summit? That is the one i was looking at, the digital for 200$, does it work with a lap top as well?

LOL. I didn't believe that would really happen, but it just happened to me. I had my clear sight plugs for about 4 years and one broke off in the bowl last week.

The analog AEM is 159 at Summit right now.

Does that plug into a lap top with software to track the A/F ration?

it has an output wire but no software to record data....so it's looking at the gauge only unless you are plugging it into something else like HP tuners to datalog. I haven't found anyone selling software that would record just a simple tach signal wire and the wideband cheaply at all.

Have you seen the Innovate motorsports piece? Comes with output wire and software for 200$ i think. Would really like to be able to log the data instead of watching a gauge while i am blasting in a straight line.

Jet extensions sound like part of your problem, just remember to use corresponding float with cutouts for extensions.

I would get a better fuel pump and run a larger fuel line. I launched my mustang on the same gears you have and it never bogged even at 6000 rpm launches. The gearing in the tranny and rear end keep the rpm's up. Are you running a dp or vac sec carb?

Back in the day when I raced stick shifts, I had the best results with some tire slippage. I would increase the tire pressure until I had a enough tire slippage to keep the RPMs up. This was sooooo much easier on clutches too.

It is a eBay jet extension and notched fuel bowl kit, neoprene or whatever you call it.

It is a pro form main body 750, double pumper, the Holley blu works fine but the next engine will get a totally upgraded fuel system.

Check your accelerator pump adjustment. Fully dpressed on the linkage should still have little clearance. You may not be getting a full shot. Just a thought.

Acc pump has nothing to do with it launching off the 2 step, the pedal is to the floor.
