the 6L L92s luv to rev more so with single plains ie the manifold tends to help it hold on another 700rpm more. I had a plastic manifold cam in it with 11:1 comp now i put the sprint car style overlap cam in to suit the single plain and another set of L92s with more compression. From calcs it should make peak power at 7300rpm and hold onto 7600ish I want to shift at 7500, So I have not started it yet. Maybe i went overboard with overlap but the combo is so similiar to a rodeck 372ci with the heads so i went with it.
If it works out ok after 12 months of racing i will pull it down and throw a decent mechanical roller in it 270s region on 110 and turn it.
I have a handle on e38 tuning especially idle and drivability but I just felt that by leaving it efi i would be just out there to prove a point but Im really after its best potential. However after reading popular hot rodding on a Ford V8 the tuner ran a 950cfm pro-systems carb on a single plane, and ran it up. He then added a tps switch to the carb and left the boosters in and used it as a TB with injectors in the manifold, dialed in the same afr and timing and made 7hp more using the same device to meter the air. He then switched to a 100mm TB and it made the same power. If you do your calcs. A stock 90mm throttle body has more CCA then a 4150 1.75" baseplate!
Its all in the manifold and plenum not the TB or carb IMO. I told this to Patrick at pro-systems and I said I am happy to test this after a bit of racing.
So will stick with efi for time being will be interesting to see how it goes with the e38. Will let you guys know anyway.

you dont need a 1050 at all......... a good holley 950hp.......BUILT..... NOT OUT OF THE BOX! one designed specifically for your engine. check out racingcarbs.com. the place is called lonestar motorsports in huntington tx. the absolute BEST carb people in this country hands down. just be very specific with you combo discription. they're a little pricey, but you know as well as i do, you get what you pay for.

Yeah the carb is on need a cable conversion now. I'm not sure if it will run faster, will let you no I have it setup so I can switch in about 2 hours from carb to efi. But it runs better with carb, I mean in that sense with the camshaft I have in it, it is not so friendly for a map sensor setup....And the injectors really need to be mounted higher, the carb delivers what the engine requires when it needs it so very smooth whereas efi has short bursts of fuel fired at low rpm speeds so it is not as smooth or responsive as a carb.
