Default Something a little different

I had a $500, low mileage 5.3L occupying too much space in my garage, and a '50 pickup build in progress so I got the two together. I didn't really plan it that way, just wanteed do something different other than another sbc so I used what I had. This one is all about the look and I can't wait to watch folks scratch their heads. Yes, I am going to use the old oil bath air cleaner, retrofit with a paper filter too. Whatdya think?

Default Finned valve covers

Are those PML valve covers? Motor looks GREAT. Where did you get them? Also, how did you plug the big holes in the top of them up in the center near the intake manifold? What is your provision for filling with oil? I love these, and want to put them on my LS2 going in my 240z, but I can't figure out how to deal with the (breather?) holes being in the wrong place compared to stock and no oil fill hole. I am using with my stock LS2 intake with aftermarket fuel rails. Please advise. My vote is to keep air cleaner as is; love the patina in contrast to high-tech motor.

Excellent project! Please post any progress pix. As a follow-up to Leevon, hope you plan on either a PCV system or breathers as these motors are very tight. Before I added breathers, I blew out my rear main seal...
