what to do for breathers or pcv system
I searched around for awhile just now trying to find some ways to put breathers on my carbed lq4. I see you can run a catch can to the passenger valve cover but i dont want to use a catch can. How can I make some breathers for both sides without it looking like complete crap.
Thanks,
Tim

I used the Metco filter on the passenger side and a small k&n breather that I picked up at the local parts store on the driver side. Little hard to see in the picture, but you can see it.

It's a factory LS1 F-body alt bracket that I bolted to the cylinder head instead of the block and added a ribbed pulley in place of the smooth idler. I needed to relocate it due to pitman arm clearance issues. Just shoot me a PM if you want any more pics or info so we don't hijack the OP's thread, but below are a couple links to what I basically did.

That's pretty much the way the factories did it for years before the closed systems on EFI engines. The advantage to using the breather on one side and a PCV on the other is that it pulls fresh air through the whole engine to get rid of the condensation and residue from slight blowby that creates sludge. All cars from mid 60's up did it this way.

I don't have any issues with blowby(misting or mess) but if you do just put a sweatband around them
