Default Why won't my Th350 converter fit my 6.0L?

This is the second time I've had this problem. The first time it was a Redneck Th350 converter and I had a dished 5.3 flexplate and tried to use the 6.0L spacer between the flexplate and the converter...that was wrong...broke the bellhousing. Now I have a TCI Th350 converter and I'm using the flat 6.0L flexplate with the built in spacer...it's bound so tight the converter won't move and the motor can't turn. I have an ultrabell on there, so I'm betting that's why it didn't crack yet. It wasn't even hard to bolt the trans to the motor, I turned all the bolts with one hand using a weak 1/4" ratchet. I've searched the site, but I'm still not sure what actually works...so many different answers. My last converters were LS1/Th350 specific so I didn't have this problem. I have 12 days until the race, what do I need?

How big is your converter? 12in, 10in, 8? how does your converter mount to the flexplate? is the converter threaded to put a bolt into it or are you just using a nut and bolt? How much of the bolt is on the front or engine side of the flexplate? do you think your bolt may be catching on something like the back of the block? just throwing ideas out there

I didn't get that far, I couldn't turn the converter to line up the bolt holes.

I ended up pulling the trans and noticed that the converter is hard to turn...like really hard. I'm pretty sure it's seated all the way. I pulled the converter out and tried a my old converter and it seated easily and turns easily. Is it possible my TCI converter is broke?

Well, we had some issues with the 6.0 swap in the 95 Z, it was a tight fit and the converter pretty much drags in the spacer, but i manages to get it in there and i still had to shim the converter .150 from the flex plate to make it fit:

I had the same issue we had to cut my spacer in half to allow the converter to spin.

Well I figured out why my converter was so hard to spin in the trans by itself...took out the caliper and measured it and it was 7 thousandths bigger than the snout on my old converter. I'm gonna do some measuring to figure out what combination of parts/mods I need to make it fit like the old converter.

WE GOT IT! We sanded down the snout on the engine side a bit and also clearanced the flexplate a little. Then we sanded down the part that went into the trans. It bolts up fine and works just as people said it would.
