Default A nitrous option to help with hood clearance.

I know especially with the carb guys, hood clearance is an issue. Also added height can add to cutting on the cowl if you are in a 4th gen.

We have a unique option that we are fond of even when clearance are not an issue. We plumb our spray bars directly into the intake manifold. This not only eliminates the added height of the plate, but allows for two huge advantages.

1) The system is low enough that we can spray directly at each runner. Much more evenly dispersed than fogging the plenum from the top.

2) It is now flowed an built to the intake. Not a generic fit on the top.

It looks a little something like this:

How good are they? We run them on our race car and on Chris's H/C trans am.

Nice, what's the cost on something like that?

275$ for just the spray bar install. Cheaper than some of the high end carb plates.

Sweet. Do you have a dual plane solution too?

We do indeed.

That is a hard thing to put a certain number on. This is going to distribute very well. Now how good the plate does is going to depend on the intake, the port work, the plate, etc. But that is the real magic in the spray bars. Its going to be correct and flowed when you get it. You jet it and start making passes knowing it is doing it job.

It is definitely a very cool option. As I said this is what we run on all of our single plane cars.

this might be a dumb question but the only way to know is to ask right? lol. so with the N2o and fuel spray bars there is the flow of air and fuel affected any while running N/A resulting in slower 1/4 times?

I think I wondered that at one time too. Then I used the nitrous and I forgot all about that.

I'm thinking this is a bit of a personal preference question, but doesn't it help the airflow by having the plate / spacer to raise the carb up?

My thought is the preference comes from a) cutting or changing your hood, or b) maybe a little less or restricted airflow. Just curious cause I think Dave and I talked about this when he was setting mine up.

A plate would still have spray bars

Kind of along the lines of what Tigger said, you either have a nitrous car or a NA car. Even though you can run either way fairly easily the car is always going to be one or the other based on how you build it.

I had the same assumption at one point as well. But we have a ton of guys that run the same ET's on motor before and after. Chris here at the shop included.

That setup looks like it would be a lot easier to swap jets than my damn plate system. The lines are so close to the bottom of the carb that it's a PITA to get to. I may have to invest in this setup. What's the usual turn around time for installation?

2-3 weeks. They usually come out faster but this is what we quote and promise to make sure we under promise/ over deliver.
