Motor mount ?? After looking for motor mounts I found a sight that has Holley mounts but they come with so many different options. Plates are available for use with stock small–block Chevy engine mounts to place the engine and transmission in the stock location or move it forward ½–, 1–¼–, or 3–inches and 1/2 in up. So how do I decide what to go with? Thanks.
I like the 1 inch set backs, but for my GMC in particular, the straight up would have been a slight bit better for the drive shaft since the seal is a inch or so long hanging gout the 4L60. But it is fine.
If you know the length of a trans with a traditional SBC with whatever trans you have will work with a stock drive shaft, the 1 inch set back is usually the right choice. They were absolutely perfect in my 86 TA, and i wish i used a 1 inch set back in my 89 RS.
