Default Carbed lq4 intake/cam question

We have a carbed lq4 in a 76 Chevrolet c10. Engine has a comp big ***** thumper cam with a performer rpm intake and a 750 holley. Trans is a th350 w/3000 converter. Truck runs great, has benn 8.10 on motor and 7.50 on a 100 shot, but wondering if we would benefit much from a victor jr intake or a different cam profile. The truck is heavy (4000 lbs) and street driven some also. Any input? Thanks

What is your shift RPM?? I suspect you are referring to the 1/8th mile?? For that distance I think the RPM is more of an asset for getting that heavy-weight moving. If you are shifting above 6500 then the Victor should start to become more of an asset.

we run 3:73's and that truck rarely sees anywhere close to 6500, what about a different cam

I would get a spec'd cam. The ***** thumpa sounds cool, But im sure it leaves alot of power on the table. Search for Patrick G on here. He is the man when it comes to cam specs.
