Default What should I expect hp f.I to carb 6spd to th400

Just purchased not to long ago a ls1 stock bottom end with trex cam and stock 853 heads. The previous owner said it put down 435 hp 385 tq. Through 6 speed fast 90 ect - now I previously owned a 302( motor is going in mustang) and I thought that with just a cam in this ls1 was crazy but from reading on here a while now it doesn't seem that far fetched, but anyways I'm putting a vic jr on it with a 750 carb and I'll be running a th400 with a yank ss 4000. So I was wondering if or how much I will loose in power.Or gain anything. I was hopping to stay somewhere in the same area but not sure let me know, thanks

It seems like usually the Carbed motors make more peak hp and tq, but you will lose a good deal of tq below the curve compared to the Fast setup. You will lose hp for sure with the heavy old th400. Ill guess that it will dyno 25 whp less with the automatic compared to the 6 speed.

I can gaurantee it will get down the track faster with the th400 so the whp figure is a moot point.
