Question Paralysis from analysis: ugh!!!!!!

Well guys I come here often (like 2or 3 times a day) and need help. I HAVE AN 85 monte carlo that I am putting a ls motor in. It's lq4 out of 2004 denali. I have bought some cnc ported 243 heads . I will be running victor junior intake and carb undecided. The car will have a mvb th350 and I have a 3.73 out back. what cam do I need to get this car to low 11s I think it is around 3600 pounds. What stall speed also. I am not concerned because anything is streetable as far i as I am concered. The bottom end is stock. I think this about covers all the info . Are my goals reachable or am I dreamin. still undecided about header choice for swap but know they will be 1 3/4 primaries.

For some good reading, check out the combo's and read some posts by these guys:

speedtigger - 11.62@116.8
thirdgenbum - 10.67@126.34
bluecajun5.3 - 10.35@130 - 2960lbs
zone89rs

There are several other members with great running cathedral head combos, just spend some quality time with the search function and you will start seeing some usual patterns and names.

I have been 7.1 in the 1/8 mile at 97, at 3450 w me in it, 6 speed, so I'm sure there is more with a appropriate auto. That is mid 11s at least, I say give the EPS carb cathedral port grind a try from Geoff, guy does great work. Ask him about recommended converter size with your vehicle info.

From what I have learned on mine: 230/234 @ .050 cam, 3500 rpm converter and a 750hp or 950 HP Holley. Will likely go high 10s if tuned to its potential

Geoff's LS1tech info

Also, a conversation with Patrick G would be worth your while.

have EPS pick you a cam, get a 850 or 950 quick fuel carb, do a few mods to it. Then think 4000+ stall if you want it to 60' right. Guys are running around with 4800-5000 converters if you're looking for max effort type deal. Big trans cooler and deep trans pan are key. There are a few guys in this section that are more into DD type driving style than street/strip and their ET/mph reflects the compromises they've made to their combo over more 1/4 mile suited combos.

I wasnt exactly going max effort but a solid car such as SPEEDTIGGER's car is what I am after. I dont need to DD the car though but I was figuring I still could get it to low 11 sec times. I have first hand experience with 11 streetable cars that can be driven daily but it is with old school small block technology.
