Carbed LS1 + 4L60E possible?

I saw a TCI 302820 EZ-TCU for $564 on a google search.

I know this is an old thread but I was wondering the same thing. Can you not just hook the RPM wire from whatever ignition you are using to the "in" RPM wire on the computer and use a TPS for the carburetor and the 4L60e still work with the stock computer? Rather than buying an expensive transmission controller.

The 4L80 is a strong beast, but it is also heavy and will make a car with low to moderate power levels slower. I would expect the 4L80 to be a tenth or two slower in the quarter mile over a 4L60 or TH200 unless you are using a power adder.
