Remember, a carb only requires 6-9 psi of pressure at the seat. So its not as much about pressure with a carb and choosing a fuel pump, as it is volumn. For a mild 5.3 I would personally run a Holley blue pump in line with your factory line and sender for your guage. They are loud...............real loud. But they are cheap, and last a long time form my experience. Hope this helps, Eric L
