So the engine is running great so far. I knew my trans was gonna go out soon, it has been an issue even before this engine. First and third gear work great. Second engages and works but slips with anything over 1/4 throttle. I spoke with Jeff at TruTechTrans about custom building me a stage 3 trans. I am looking at doing this within the next 2 to 3 months. I am hoping 1st and 3rd hold out that long. I am going to have the transgo HD3 full manual kit installed with the rebuild and will be putting in a B&M megashifter.

A little update, I just ordered a PerformaBuilt Level 2 Pro race 700R4. I can't wait to get it in and installed. I also got some new rims and tires. Weld Street Stars with BF Goodwrench Radial T/A's 15x10 in the rear with 295/502/15's and 15x8 in the front with 245/60/15's. It's starting to come together. Even with the wider tires it will go sideways at 40mph. I need some slicks and weight in the back.

Not sure why I said the rims were Weld racing. They are the Cragar Street Stars.

Right now I'm only getting about 12-14mpg, it's hard not to be heavy on the throttle. It is also running very rich. I only have about 500 miles on it and am waiting to get the new trans to get it dyno tuned. I am hoping to get 17mpg out of it with a tune and a light foot.

Got my PerformaBuilt level 2 700r4. Going to try to install it in a week or so. Also, I picked up a B&M megashifter. Can't wait to have some real fun.

Very nice! That should bang out good shifts for a while. Any updates on the outside of the truck? A nice 2/4 drop would look goood.

I'm looking at doing a 3/4 drop. I have been waiting to get the trans replaced. Now I can start working on the body. My plans are a 2" cowl hood, remove the trim, rear roll pan, billitt grille and then probably paint it black.

The front end and cowl of this truck

the rear roll pan and about the drop of this truck

That will look sharp. I shaved everything on my 92 gmc except for the door handles since it was a daily driver at the time and didn't want to deal with door poppers. I even shaved the cab seams it was a lot of work but was well worth it

I love this look. Especially the blacked out grill and bumpers. I am about to put an aluminum 5.3 fuel injected in my son's 88 long bed. Suscribed

Using the dirty dingo mounts did you upgrade the factory motor mounts they bolt to or just leave them alone?

I used the same clam shells but put in polyurethane bushings. I just had to drill out the rivets in the clam shells to open them up.
