Air cleaner assembly help....
Ok guys hopefully someone has had the chance to try a bunch of different setups already...
2000 Trans Am. It's a WS6 car with the stock ram air hood. I've cut the cowl area and the underneath hood skin around the carb. I've also spaced the hood up with a couple of thick washers. I'm having trouble finding an air cleaner assembly that'll fit. The only thing I can get to fit right now is a little triangle foam filter thing that I know is chocking up the motor.

So is the problem a regular one rubs on cowl and hood? You can get some bases that are dropped so it doesn't sit so high, not sure of all options I just found out these options recently for my cowl hood

I found a real low 12 or 14 in low profile round aircleaner from Jegs I think. I want to say its from Mr Gastket. I had been using the Edlebrock triangle setup as well but it was getting sucked in the carb. I can find the part number I think for the low profile round set up. or just search Jegs for LOW Profile in thier air cleaners.

Carb hat is the typical option for a 4th gen carbed setup for the street. Plumbed to fresh air or just forward. Had a spectre on my 95 z28 with a carbed 355, ran to the driver side, then when I got a cowl, I ran it forward.
There are some estranged options, a picture of the said work cleared for the application would be helpful.

Thanks for the inputs. Got the car dyno tuned today...
Stock LS6, Pro systems 780, Vic Jr. Made 380 to the wheels. On a side note that was with the air cleaner off the car. With the air cleaner it dropped 25 rwhp and the carb would lean out due to lack of air velocity.... This air cleaner doesn't work lol...
The tuner has a carb'd road race car also. Said the plenums where restrictive as well compared to any 14" setup. However the plenums maintain the same air velocity across the board which is it's saving grace. Time to buy a couple of bases and see what I can get to work. Or go with the plenum and deal with the restriction.
