Has this engine combo ever ran correctly? Double check the cam install, was it degreed? Make sure it was not installed 1 tooth out
I may know a guy, that knows of a guy, that may have accidentally f'ed that up, lol

6.5lbs I have had it all the way to 11 still pops gonna pull engine out and pull cam and valve train do a little measuring to see if something is out of round or a little bent. I made it to tenth in points running it this way out of 86 cars who ran this season but got knocked down to 17th because I missed the last race due to I am tired of it popping, I even made it to semi finals on 7/21 and got beat by 1 thousandth of a second on a double break out but I am not gonna make the finals this year so my season is over, but that gives me all winter to remove some more weight and get this figured out. So please keep coming with ideas and ill keep trying them.

Ran a snap on camera into each cylinder thru the spark plug hole to check pistons and cylinder wear looks brand new in there other than a little carbon build up on pistons, also ran it into intake ports on heads valves look great. Here comes the tear down.

84/84 sounds fat on the carb to me. also are you sure you have the float level set correctly?? If the float level is low it could be running out of fuel in 1st gear due to the weight transfer running the back jets dry.

Yep floats are set great, also I have jet extensions to assure they don't go dry. As far as the converter goes no it's not matched to the cam but I figure little cam little converter just my way of thinking I know it needs a better converter, but don't want to buy one until pop is gone
