Help picking a carb
Help picking a carb Need some help picking a carb for my build. I am trying to stick to my strict budget on this build so i'm not wanting to spend a bunch of cash. I'm also not sure if I will be able to use a 650 or 750 carb. I was thinking about going with a Holley 82751, but any help is appreciated!
Setup is:
Stock LS1 shortblock
Victor Jr. intake
PRC 5.3 heads 61cc
EPS 235/242 .638/.615" 109LSA +0
1 3/4" longtubes

That HP carb will definitely get the job done. Nice carb with lots of features. But like Zones said a used classic DP will save you some $$. You will even pick up a choke if your car is truely street. Most of the big mail order parts places sell re manufactured ones.
Quick Fuel makes a slayer and HR series that are a fair bit cheaper. They still have things like adjustable air bleeds. The HR in particular is $100 less

carb I have a bg holley style 850cfm with sight bowls and 4 adjuster .... i have it on my ls1 with cam and vic jr... i was told by prosystem and latemodelracecraft to use this size carb to make more power....im going blow throw in 2 weeks will sell u one mine for $350 just was rebuilt by shop...

Verdad Gallardo Also, by no means is this car going to be a daily. It's getting a built TH400 with a 4500 stall and has 4.10 gears. Everything has been stripped that doesn't help it go fast in a straight line. It will be driven on the street for fun but it's being built solely for racing.

Now... you'll want to stick with mechanical, but I'm currently running a Holley 770cfm Street Avenger and the car runs fantastic on it. Very daily driver friendly, still quite a bit of snap to it. Shelved the E85 carb for the winter
