the alternator off my ls2 is a 2 wire setup most of what i pulled up in my searches were either 3 or 4 wire, so how do i wire mines? sorry for all the questions lately but i finally got my motor in and im trying to get it together.

you dont even have to connect them. i have an ls2 in my 67 camaro and forgot to hook anything but the main lug up and it charges fine... posted about it here a few months back and everyone agreed.

Brown wire to dummy light or put 470 ohm resistor on it to switched 12v. Grey let hang

saw your picture before i even posted this question but i was confused because yours is a 4 plug and mines is a 2 plug i dont even have my original plug so i dont know what color the wires were

Whats the purpose of the switched 12V? Any drawbacks to not hooking it up?

It is the Charge Indicator Control. (aka, it sees the battery voltage and tells the alt to start charging)Basically the exciter wire, and yes i would suggest hooking it up to get a constant 14.1-2 volts. It is very simple to do. took me about 5mins.

Anybody know which pin this would go to on a 2 wire alt

C2 - Green Pin 15: BRN - Charge Indicator Control
C2 - Green Pin 75: GRY - Gen Field Duty Cycle Signal



So it would be the brown wire if you have the factory harness and plug, if not, it would be driver side pin.
