Default Prepping for first start of carb'd stock LS1 w/ MSD 6010 and Pro-Systems 750 carb

Carb'd LS1 going into a our Panoz roadrace car (build linked in sig). How should I set the carb and MSD box for the first start? I need it to be able to idle and run well enough to break in the motor. My break-in procedure would be as follows:
  1. Start on 5w30 regular oil
  2. Let run 10-15 minutes, then change oil/filter using regular 5w30 again
  3. Run on dyno doing 5-6 75% throttle pulls to 4000-5000 rpms.
  4. Drive around on dyno for remainder of dyno hour varying gear and rpms.
  5. Switch to Amsoil 10w40 synthetic (what I run in my Corvette)
  6. Dynotune car to max 6500 rpms.
  7. Go beat on it.

Specs:
  • 2004 GTO LS1 crate motor (241 heads & stock cam)
  • Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold
  • Pro-Systems road race carb based on Holley 750 (left over from the 347 SBF taht made around 370 rwhp)
  • MSD-6010 ignition controller

Thanks,

Brian

PS - I don't have much experience with carbs. I didn't work on the car much when it had the SBFs. I understand the basics and how they work, but not sure how to create a good baseline for starting and running the car.

I'd put the #1 pill in, drop the carb on, and let 'er rip. After break-in, you can spend some time dialing it in...
