Cheapest A body headers ?
Cheapest A body headers ? Only considering buying headers because I'm thinking of adding a cam, I'm fine with the amount of horse power my engine makes stock but don't like the smooth idel and prefer the lobe of a cam. Can just barely afford the cam and valve springs as is so I need to find a set of headers for as cheap as possible, not looking to buy a used set looking for new, or are headers even necessary ?

If your wanting something mild I wouldnt bother with them. Odds are that if you are on a tight budget your not gonna want to spring for a set of coated headers and the steel headers are gonna rust. Plus you likely wont have to deal with fitment issues. My .02

Do you have any problems with them scraping or getting dented?? I always hated that on headers in the past. That along with the leaks are the big reason I am leaning away from long tubes.

The ground clearance on the Doug's is fantastic. They are actually above the crossmember. I did have to "adjust" a few tubes with the hammer on the driver's side. But, that is likely just a 64-67 thing. They have never leaked. They are excellent.

These sound quite promising. I wonder if they have that much clearance on a '72?? What flange gasket did you use??

I just found out that the D3338's have been discontinued. This was a reply I received from a retailer... "Thank you for your inquiry on our Doug's LS swap headers. To answer your question, unfortunately the D3338 headers have been discontinued. We will hopefully be getting some swap headers in pretty soon through another manufacturer. If you have anymore questions, feel free to message me back or contact us..."
